William Jones, who later became a postmaster in Cardiff, played twice for Glamorganshire.
His first appearance came against Herefordshire at Hereford on 15 and 16 June 1871, when he scored 1 in his only innings batting at number nine. Three years later he played against Breconshire at Brecon on 24 and 25 June 1874. This time he batted at number seven and made 2 and 1. No doubt, his youthful energies in the field were appreciated in both games.
