2016 saw the return of county cricket to Newport as Spytty Park hosted Glamorgan’s one-day friendly against Pakistan A, with Will Bragg acting as captain.

First-class victories during 2016:

July 17, 18, 19, 20 v Derbyshire at Colwyn Bay – won by 4 wickets.

Aug 13, 14, 15, 16 v Worcestershire at New Road – won by 5 wickets.

Sept 12, 13, 14, 15 v Essex  at Chelmsford – won by 11 runs.
