William Howells was a builder and contractor in Swansea. He played twice for the Gentlemen of Glamorgan in 1913 – each time against their counterparts from Carmarthenshire, at Stradey Park in Llanelli and on his home patch at St. Helen’s in Swansea. Batting at number eight, he top-scored with an unbeaten 37 in Glamorgan ‘s first innings at Llanelli, besides claiming 3/17 in Carmarthenshire’s second innings at Swansea.
