Wayne Parnell, the South African all-rounder, played in T20 cricket for Glamorgan during 2015.
The left-arm seam bowler’s most notable performance came during his final appearance for the Welsh county and in dramatic fashion at Taunton as Glamorgan clinched a three-run thriller. With Somerset needing twelve off the final over, Tim Groenewald on-drove Wayne’s first delivery for four and, after a flurry of singles and a wide, Abdur Rehman was left needing to strike four from the final two balls. But Parnell yorked the Pakistani spinner before Max Waller failed to make contact with the final ball as Glamorgan clinched a thrilling win.
Wayne had previously played for Kent between 2009 and 2017, besides having a short spell with Sussex during 2011. In 2018 he joined Worcestershire on a three-year deal. In all, Wayne has appeared in 6 Tests, 65 One-Day Internationals and 40 International T20’s for South Africa.
