Walter Bainbridge, a stockbroker, featured on the South Wales Cricket Club’s tour to the Home Counties in July 1865. He played against the Gentlemen of Kent at Gravesend, Middlesex Club and Ground at Islington and I Zingari at Lord’s. However, he met with little success, scoring 17 runs with a top score of 5 at Gravesend.

In 1861 he played for a Hampshire XI against the United England XI at Winchester. He was twice married and fathered ten children.
