Tyrone Powell only played one first-class match for Glamorgan. That came in 1976 against the West Indians at Swansea, and the young colt bagged a pair as he was dismissed in each innings by their fearsome pace bowlers without scoring.

The right-handed batsman had been born in South Wales, but brought up in New Zealand, where he played for the New Zealand under-23 team during 1971/72. Tyrone played for Glamorgan`s 2nd XI in 1975 besides appearing in Glamorgan`s limited overs friendly against East Africa at Sophia Gardens as the tourists warmed up for the World Cup.

After being released by Glamorgan at the end of 1976, Tyrone moved to East Anglia and played in Minor County matches for Norfolk between 1982 and 1986.
