Tom Poole

Tom Poole was the professional with Cardiff CC during 1903 and 1904. During his association with South Wales, the right-arm seam bowler and batter was also called up by the Glamorgan selectors to play against the Philadelphians in 1903 at the Arms Park. He did little of note though in what proved to be his sole appearance for the Welsh county.

Tom had been on the Leicestershire staff during 1895 and 1896 before securing professional posts in Scotland with Dalkeith and Paisley. He moved to Northern Ireland in 1901, to play for Belfast, before switching to the Lancashire Leagues with Lowerhouse in 1902. His success in the Lancashire Leagues helped Tom gain a position with Cardiff for 1903 and 1904. Whilst an effective bowler at club level, he never secured further opportunities to play at county level.
