Tom was the elder brother of Arthur Jenkins and also played for Glamorgan in their wartime friendlies between 1943 and 1945.
He had also impressed whilst at Pontypridd Grammar School and from 1936 had played for the Glamorgan Colts. His 1st XI debut came during August 1943 when he played alongside his brother in the Glamorgan side which met The Army at Cardiff Arms Park.
In 1945 he also played for Glamorgan against the West of England at the same ground, in addition to appearing in the Glamorgan Future team which met the Glamorgan Past in a one-day friendly at the Barracks Field ground in Cardiff.
