Steve Malone

Steve Malone, a fast-medium seam bowler, spent a year on Glamorgan`s books in 1985 after earlier spells with Essex and Hampshire.

The effervescent bowler had failed to command a regular place with his previous two counties and the same happened in both formats of the game whilst Steve was with the Welsh county during 1985, but not before he produced a hostile spell of 5/38 against his former employers at Southampton. It proved to be his finest moment in Glamorgan colours and in 1986 he moved north to play for Durham.

Steve later returned south to play Minor County cricket for both Dorset and Wiltshire. After retiring from playing in the early 1990s, Steve became a youth coach in Hampshire before becoming an umpire and having a spell on the first-class reserve list between 2008 and 2011.
