Shubman Gill joined Glamorgan during September 2022 for the final four matches in the LV=Insurance County Championship as the Welsh county pushed for promotion.

The 22-year-old made a high-class and unflustered 92 on his debut against Worcestershire at Cardiff, and during his innings he unfurled a range of classical and well-timed strokes, especially off the front foot.
The right-handed batter had been a heavy run-scorer in schoolboy and age-group cricket in India, in addition to being vice-captain of India’s U19s World Cup-winning side as well as being the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer.

Having made his first-class debut for Punjab in 2017/18, Shubman made his Test debut for India, against Australia at Melbourne in the Boxing Day Test of 2021. He has subsequently represented the Indian senior team in 11 Test Matches, besides featuring in 9 One-Day Internationals. He has also appeared in the Indian Premier League for Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans.
