Rev. William Garner was a cricketing cleric who played three times for the South Wales Cricket Club during 1881.

Born in Llandovery and educated at Jesus College in Oxford, the spin bowler enjoyed success in his student days as well as a young vicar when he returned to West Wales having taken curacies at Crunwear in Narberth, Llandovery and later at Angle in Pembroke.

His appearances for the South Wales Cricket Club came in 1881 when he played against the MCC at Cardiff Arms Park, before featuring in the return match at Lord’s, where he also scored 15, besides the game with Surrey Club and Ground at The Oval.
