Rev. John Myddleton Evans was a well-travelled curate who hailed from Denbighshire and played once for Glamorganshire in 1866 whilst working as a clerk in Holy Orders in the parish of Roath in Cardiff.
His sole appearance for Glamorganshire came on 12 and 13 June 1866 at Merthyr Mawr when he played against Carmarthenshire. Batting at number three, he scored 14 in what proved to his only innings as Carmarthenshire were defeated by an innings and 81 runs.
During his career, Rev. Evans also held curacies in Ilminster, Rockingham, Pitsford, and Northampton as well as in Lancashire and Yorkshire.
