Rev. George Bird made one appearance for the South Wales Cricket Club, playing against Cirencester in 1864. The theology student from Oriel College, Oxford made 6 and 2, but his services were never called upon again.
Whilst at Oxford, he had a decent record in College cricket for Oriel and being a friend of several members of the South Wales club, he was called up for the match at Cirencester.
He subsequently became curate of Exmouth, before moving to Lancashire where he was vicar of Hollinwood. He later moved to Norfolk and was Rector of Boughton.
