Ray Dovey

Ray Dovey enjoyed a productive career for Kent with the bespectacled off-spinner taking 751 wickets in 249 first-class appearances for the English county.

During the Second World War he initially served with the 30th Balloon Barrage in London before being stationed in South Wales. This move led to his seven appearances for Glamorgan during 1944.

After the War, he toured India and Ceylon with the Commonwealth XI during 1950/51 and after retiring from county cricket with Kent, he appeared in the Minor County Championship for Dorset.
