
Phil George made one appearance for Glamorgan 1st XI in their 25 overs friendly against Worcestershire at New Road on 21 June 1999 as the ECB arranged a series of trial games in a shortened format, prior to the introduction of a T20 competition.
The right-handed batter and seam bowler claimed the wicket of Vikram Solanki, but batting at number nine, Phil failed to score in what proved to be his only innings for the 1st XI.
Educated at St.John Lloyd Comprehensive School and Graig Tertiary College, Phil played for Glamorgan Colts from 1995 having featured in Wales age-group teams. He subsequently played for Glamorgan’s 2nd XI between 1997 and 200, besides playing for Wales National Counties from 1997 until 2002. He played club cricket for Dafen and Swansea.
