Neil Perry, a left-arm spinner, played for Glamorgan between 1979 and 1981. The Sutton-born spinner had first played for Surrey 2nd XI during 1974, before spending a couple of years on the MCC groundstaff at Lord’s. In 1978 he had trials with Surrey and Essex, besides appearing for DH Robins’ XI against Cambridge University at Eastbourne.
He joined Glamorgan in 1979 and made his first-class debut against the Sri Lankans at Swansea in 1979. He also played against the Indians a fortnight later at the same venue, besides appearing in four Championship matches, but over the course of the next two seasons Neil failed to command a regular place in the 1st XI and was released at the end of the 1981 season having made a solitary Championship appearance that summer.
