Left-arm spinner Mark Dobson made one appearance for Glamorgan against Oxford University at The Parks during 1992.

He had previously been on the Kent staff between 1989 and 1991, having first played for their 2nd  XI in 1983 aged fifteen. He duly made his first-class debut in 1989 against Essex at Southend – the first of nine appearances in first-class cricket as well as one List A match for his native county with his opportunities being restricted by the presence of fellow spinners Richard Davis and Min Patel on Kent’s staff.

After being released by Kent, Mark had a short spell on trial with Glamorgan, largely on the recommendation of Chris Cowdrey his former team-mate at the Canterbury-based club who was on Glamorgan’s books that year. It was during this time that he played at Oxford where he took a solitary wicket against the students.

Mark subsequently went into the world of education and has been a PE teacher as well as being master i/c cricket at St. Edmund’s School, Canterbury.
