Lewis Davies was one of the leading batters in South Wales during the 1850s, but the Cardiff-born gentleman failed to score in his two appearances for the Gentlemen of South Wales against firstly the All-England Eleven at Court Herbet Field in Neath during 1855 and against the same opposition the following year at The Gnoll.
Nevertheless, in 1861 he was chosen to play for Glamorganshire against Carmarthenshire at Llanelly House. He made 11* and 0 in what proved to be his only county appearance.
