Len Pitchford was the professional at Ebbw Vale CC during the 1930`s, and in 1935 the right-handed batsman made two first-class appearances for Glamorgan.

His selection followed an innings of 226 for the county’s 2nd XI against Berkshire at Cardiff Arms Park, yet despite his prolific record in club and Minor County cricket he was not called up again by the county selectors.

Len had previously played for Bedfordshire and had a spell on the Lancashire groundstaff before moving to South Wales. After retiring from playing, Len was the groundsman briefly at the St. Helen`s ground in Swansea, before spending over two decades at the BP Llandarcy ground near Neath.
