Kim Davies was Eifion Jones` understudy as Glamorgan`s wicket-keeper during the mid-1970`s. Eifion’s durability meant that during Kim’s time on the Glamorgan staff he only played twice for the 1st XI, each time against student opposition, appearing against Cambridge University at Swansea in 1975 and Oxford University at The Parks in 1976.
The left-hander had joined the Welsh county’s staff after impressing keeping wicket for Welsh Schools during the early 1970s as well as for Clydach CC. His brother Malcolm also played for Glamorgan 2nd XI during the 1970s whilst his son Sam has played for both Cardiff MCCU and Glamorgan 2nd XI. Kim also played club rugby for Aberavon RFC.
