Ken Thomas

Ken Thomas, a right-handed batter and fast-medium bowler, was a long-serving player with both Briton Ferry Town CC and Briton Ferry Steel CC.

A native of Neath, he was educated at Cwrt Sart Secondary School and Swansea Technical College before securing various posts in the steel and tinplate industry in South Wales .

In September 1944 Ken was a late substitute in the West of England side which met Glamorgan at Briton Ferry before the following year making his debut for the county side against Western Command, also at Briton Ferry. A couple of weeks later, he also played for the Glamorgan Past XI which met a Glmaorgan Future XI in a one-day friendly at the Barracks Ground in Cardiff.
