Born in Hereford and raised in Builth Wells, the left-arm seamer played Minor County cricket for Herefordshire, besides playing 2nd XI cricket for Worcestershire and Gloucestershire before joining the Welsh county’s staff in 2019.
Jamie suffered a series of niggling injuries but he was able to make his first-class debut in 2021 in the opening Championship match against Yorkshire at Headingley. During the game he sustained a rib injury and did not re-appear until the closing match of the 2021 summer against Surrey at The Oval.
2022 saw Jamie make his debut in white-ball cricket for Glmaorgan with the left-armer delivering some useful spells until a leg injury brought a premature end to his season. However, he returned to full fitness and became a regular in both the red-ball and white-ball teams in 2023. His accurate new-ball bowling in tandem with Timm van der Gugten was also a key ingredient in Glamorgan’s successful run in the 50-overs competition during 2024 with Jamie being a member of the Welsh county’s side that defeated Somerset in the Final of the Metro Bank Cup at Trent Bridge.
Jamie was also part of cricket history at Cheltenham during 2024 where he was the final batter in Glamorgan’s epic run-chase against Gloucestershire. Set a mammoth target of 593 to win, Jamie was on strike for the final ball with the scores level but he was superbly caught by wicket-keeper James Bracey after, for a split-second, it looked like the Glamorgan tailender had scored the winning runs and secured a world-record chase for his team. 2025 hoever saw Jamie struggle with a series of injuries which restricted him to only a handful of appearances in white-ball matches.
