Jamie Bishop had an outstanding record as a left-handed batsman for Welsh Schools, Glamorgan Colts and Pontarddulais.CC. He made first-class one appearance for Glamorgan in 1992, as a wicket-keeper when other regular players were rested, including first-choice gloveman Colin Metson.

He duly posted an unbeaten half-century against Oxford University, but despite a prolific record in the South Wales Cricket Association and for both Glamorgan Colts and the Wales Minor Counties side, Jamie was not called up again for a first team game.

Jamie had made his debut for both Glamorgan 2nd XI and Wales Minor Counties in 1989, in addition to playing for the county’s Colts team. He scored four centuries for Glamorgan Colts in the early 1990s against school and club teams, in addition to 135 for Glamorgan 2nd XI against Somerset 2nd XI.
