James Kettleborough joined Glamorgan for 2015 having made his first-class debut the previous summer for Northamptonshire against the Sri Lankan tourists.
Having started 2015 as Jacques Rudolph’s opening partner, James lost his place in Glamorgan’s Championship line-up in mid-season before returning to the side for the closing weeks of the season and making 81 at Bristol in the final game of the season. After hitting a century against Somerset in a pre-season friendly, James started the 2016 season as Glamorgan’s opening batsman in Championship cricket. Once again, he met with mixed fortunes, but made 42 against Kent at Canterbury in what proved to be his final Championship appearance for the Welsh county.
He duly returned to Glamorgan’s 2nd XI where he posted some decent scores, besides appearing in their List A friendly against Pakistan A at Newport during mid-July. The right-hander had previously played Minor County cricket for Bedfordshire and having made his debut during 2009 whilst still a pupil at Bedford School, where he was a prolific run-scorer.
After leaving Glamorgan, James had a spell as Derbyshire’s 2nd XI captain besides playing for the Unicorns during 2017.
