Jack Evans

A master builder by trade, Jack Evans appeared for Glamorgan in the wartime friendly against the Royal Australian Airforce at the Arms Park in 1945, over twenty years after his first-ever appearance for the county’s Colts team as well as their Club and Ground side.

During the 1930s he also appeared for Glamorgan 2nd XI in their Minor County Championship matches and was captain of Cardiff CC during 1938, 1940 and 1946.

Jack was also a noted rugby referee and during 1958 he officiated in two international games – Ireland v Australia and France v England.
