Ira Llewellyn

A stalwart of the South Wales and Monmouthshire League, Ira Llewellyn had played for Glamorgan during 1944 whilst still only sixteen in the Welsh county’s friendly against the West of England on his home ground at Ynysmaerdy in Briton Ferry.

At the time, Ira was a seam bowler but he subsequently switched to off-spin and enjoyed a highly successful career in club cricket, besides playing for Glamorgan 2nd XI in their Minor County matches from 1948 until 1950.During his playing career, Ira played in club cricket for Briton Ferry Town, Briton Ferry Steel, SCOW Margam and Thorneycroft’s.
