Hayden Kerr, the 28 year-old left-arm fast-medium bowler and hard hitting right-arm batter from Australia, joined Glamorgan during mid-May 2025 with the intention of playing in their matches in the Vitality T20 Blast competition.

He was recommended to Glamorgan by their former Head Coach Matthew Mott, who was now a coaching consultant with the Welsh county after standing down from his position of coaching England’s white-ball team. Hayden duly made his 1st XI bow in the National County showcase match against Wiltshire at Swindon and secured an immediate entry into the Club’s record books as he featured in their inaugural Super Over after the scored were level at the end of the 20-overs contest. He only conceeded 13 runs form his six balls before accompanying Dan Douthwaite back into the middle and, from the non-striker’s end, watched his partner strike a pair of two’s plus a duo of massive sixes to seal victory.

However, Hayden sustained a leg injury during the match against Surrey – his second appearance in the T20 Blast – and after medical treatment and consultation, he spent a couple of months on the sidelines, before returning to Australia, as Imad Wasim of Pakistan replaced him for the rest of the group stages of the T20 tournament.

Born in July 1996 in Bowral, the home of Don Bradman in New South Wales, Hayden played representative cricket initially for the Australian Capital Territories before making his List A debut for his home state in 2019/20. Since that time, he has also been a regular in the Sydney Sixers T20 team in the Big Bash, where he has claimed 54 wickets at an average of 23.64, besides having a top score of an unbeaten 98 in the contest against the Adelaide Strikers in 2021/22. He has subsequently joined Queensland for 2025/26.

Hayden had previous experience of county cricket having played for Derbyshire in the Vitality Blast competition during 2022, claiming 15 wickets at just 24 runs apiece. He also featured in the Lanka Premier League for the Dambulla Aura during 2023.
