Lewin was one of the young cricketers who was given a trial by the Glamorgan selectors in their friendly match against a Cardiff and District XI in 1893.
Born near The Oval, he was probably on the Surrey groundstaff and recommended to the Welsh county’s selectors for this trial game. However, he never played again and subsequently trained as a gas-fitter, and later a carpenter before living in Sussex.
