Gwilym Went played once for Glamorgan during 1934 as the Welsh county promoted their homegrown talent.
The right-handed batsman and leg-break bowler had a decent record for Barry Athletic CC and from 1931 had featured in the county’s Colts team.
Some impressive innings for the Club and Ground side led to his selection in 1934 for the match against Gloucestershire at Stradey Park. He made an unbeaten 14 in the first innings, but was dismissed for a duck second time around as Gloucestershire won by seven wickets. It proved to be his only first-class appearance.
