Guy Daly had a very short first-class career, playing in just one match for Glamorgan – against Cambridge University at Swansea in 1938 – but after bowling just seven overs, the Hampshire-born all-rounder was injured, and did not appear in any other county games.
Daly had a fine record as a schoolboy sportsman at Imperial Service College, Windsor before moving to Monmouthshire to become a poultry farmer. He duly had an outstanding career in
club cricket for Abergavenny and in later years combined the roles of coach-groundsman at the Avenue Road ground.
