Frank Bennett made two appearances for Glamorgan in July 1914, both at the Arms Park, against Wiltshire and Monmouthshire.
The all-rounder was a professional with a number of valley clubs including Llwynypia, Hill’s Plymouth, Lewis-Merthyr, Aberamman and Mountain Ash. Had it not been for the outbreak of War, he might have played again and secured a regular place in the Glamorgan side. He continued playing in League cricket after the War, although he was not called up again by the Glamorgan selectors for any first-class matches.
He did however have a brief re-appearance in a trial match in 1922, appearing for a Glamorgan Colts XI against Swansea. His first game in Glamorgan’s ranks had been in July 1910 when he featured in Billy Bowden’s Glamorgan XI against the Hill’s Plymouth club at the Pentrebach ground in Merthyr Tydfil.
