Rev. Evan Thomas was yet another cricketing cleric who played for Glamorganshire, with his sole appearance coming in 1875 against Breconshire, ironically the county of his birth. The match at Cardiff Arms Park saw Evan score 1 and 5.

Educated at Jesus College, Oxford, Evan initially played for the Gentlemen of Monmouthshire against their counterparts from Herefordshire in 1870 before playing for Breconshire later that summer, and again in 1871. He was also a member of the South Wales Cricket Club and went on their London tour during 1875, besides playing for them against Cliftonm in 1883 – a match which saw Evan score 24 and 35*.

He served as Curate of Bedworth and Vicar of Stoneleigh.
