Edward Brooks, a commercial clerk who hailed from Bristol, played once for Glamorganshire in 1872, besides playing twice that year for Breconshire. Ironically, one of these game was against Glamorganshire at The Gnoll in Neath whilst the other was against Mr G. Morgan’s XI at Brecon.
His one appearance for Glamorganshire also came at Brecon where, in the game on 6 and 7 August, he made scores of 23 and 24 against his Breconshire colleagues. It is likely that his appearances in 1872 came at a time when was a member of the Brecon club before moving to Swansea.
