Edgar Vaughan, a promising batter from Llanelli CC, appeared in the wartime friendly against the Royal Air Force at Barry Island in August on account of the youngster getting time off from his reserved occupation Trostre Steelworks.
He had played for the Glamorgan Colts team during 1939 but the match against the RAF proved to be his only 1st XI appearance for the Welsh county.
