Dewi Penrhyn Jones

Dewi Penrhyn Jones, a lively right-arm seam bowler spent three years on Glamorgan’s books during the mid-2010s.

He had made his first-class debut in 2015 having been a member of the Club’s Academy in 2014, during which time the young pace bowler appeared for the Welsh county in their Royal London One-Day Cup match against Middlesex at Cardiff.

Born in Wrexham and educated at Ellesmere College, the flame-haired youngster had progressed from age-group teams into the Wales Minor Counties side in 2012, besides furthering his cricketing education by playing in the Birmingham Leagues before spending 2014/15 in Australia.

Dewi subsequently appeared in two Championship matches during 2015, besides playing in a further three one-day matches for the Welsh county. However, his only appearance at 1st  XI level in 2016 came at Spytty Park in Newport where he played in the one-day friendly against Pakistan A and he was released from the county’s staff at the end of the summer. He has subsequently played in both the Cheshire and Liverpool Premier Leagues.
