David Thomas, a left-arm spinner, played once for Glamorgan during 1932.
His success in the South Wales and Monmouthshire League for Pontarddulais CC, and subsequently in games for Swansea University, attracted the attention of Glamorgan`s talent scouts who were keen to give a chance to promising young Welsh cricketers.
David had played for the Colts during 1930 and 1931, and following the release of Frank Ryan, opportunities were given to others. David’s chance came when Northamptonshire visited the St. Helen’s ground during 1932. at Swansea,. However, David failed to take a wicket in either innings and the subsequent success of Emrys Davies, meant that David was not called up again, despite a good record in club cricket.
