David Jones was a lively right-arm seam bowler who played for Glamorgan in their first-class friendly against Sir Julian’s Cahn’s XI at Newport during July 1938.

It came a few weeks after David had left King’s College, Taunton where he had showed great promise as an all-rounder and had won a pace in both the Welsh Schools team as well as the Glamorgan Colts team. With the Welsh county eager to blood young talent, he was also given opportunities to play for the county’s 2nd XI during 1938, but he opted for a career away from cricket.
