Craig Miles joined Glamorgan on a month-long loan at the start of the 2024 season from Warwickshire, following injuries to Timm van der Gugten (calf muscle) and Harry Podmore (broken thumb)
The 29 year-old made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire against Northamptonshire during May 2011 whilst still at school in his native Wiltshire. He subsequently moved to Warwickshire in 2019 and played on loan for Durham, against Glamorgan, in 2023. Craig has also played in The Hundred for the Northern Superchargers.
At the time of his loan deal with the Welsh county, Craig had taken 344 first-class wickets at an average of 28, plus 116 wickets in white-ball cricket. His brother Adam, a wicket-keeper, played for Cardiff MCCU from 2011 until 2013, as well as playing for Cardiff CC and Glamorgan 2nd XI in 2010 and 2011.
On announcing Craig’s acquisition, Head Coach Grant Bradburn, said: “We are pleased to strengthen our squad depth with the addition of Craig Miles on loan from Warwickshire. Craig’s experience and first-class record will provide a huge boost to our squad as we look to begin a new era of success for Glamorgan.”
Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, added: “It’s great to be able to add someone of Craig’s experience to our seam attack for the start of the season. We’re grateful to Warwickshire for allowing us to take him on loan and look forward to him running in for Glamorgan.”
Craig duly made his Glamorgan debut against Middlesex at Lord’s.
