Born and raised in Caerphilly, Connor Brown was another young homegrown cricketer to progress along the pathway from the Club’s Academy and Welsh age-group teams, to a place on the county’s staff and during September 2017 a place in the Glamorgan 1st XI.
The steady right-handed batsman and off-spin bowler cut a favourable impression on his Championship debut against Gloucestershire at The SSE SWALEC, before being part of the Welsh county’s team which defeated Kent at Canterbury in the closing game of the 2017 season.
Connor played again during 2018 when completing his studies at Cardiff Metropolitan University and made an assured 98 against at The Oval, and against an attack which included several Test bowlers, including Morne Morkel the Springbok paceman. However, Connor did not make any further 1st XI appearances in 2019 and 2020 and was released from the county’s staff.
