The son of a carpenter who lived in St. Fagans, Colin Mildon followed his father into the village’s cricket team before being called up by Glamorgan’s selectors in 1945 to keep wicket in the friendly match against London Counties at Rodney Parade in Newport.
Two years before, Colin had also featured in the Glamorgan Future team which met a Glamorgan Past eleven in a one-day friendly at the Arms Park. In 1946 he also played for Glamorgan 2nd XI but Colin never got the call-up again to represent Glamorgan.
