Claude Warner, a stockbroker by profession, played once for Glamorgan in 1923.
Born in Cardiff and raised in Llanelli, he had first played county cricket for Carmarthenshire in 1920 and in their match with Glamorgan at Stradey Park, Claude claimed 6/51 with his mix of off-breaks and cutters.
His continued success for Llanelli CC led to his call-up by Glamorgan in 1923 for the match at Helen’s against Nottinghamshire.. He made 7 in each innings and failed to claim a wicket in what proved to be his only opportunity at first-class level and a game which saw hard-nosed professionals secure a comfortable victory over amateur enthusiasm.
