Churchill Gould, a Lieutenant-Colonel in the 3rd Battalion of the Welch Regiment and a member of Cowbridge CC, played twice for Glamorganshire during 1871. His debut came at Hereford on 15 and 16 June as Glamorganshire met Herefordshire with Churchill scoring 23* and 7. On 17 and 18 July he played again, against Monmouthshire at Usk, scoring 0 and 16.
He lived at Ash Hall, Cowbridge and subsequently at Cottrill Park. In addition, he served as a Director of the Taff Vale Railway besides being a JP for Glamorgan and Monmouthshire.
