Chris Ashling made his Glamorgan debut in 2009 with the fast-medium seamer playing in several four-day and one-day matches during the second half of the season. Chris had previously played for Lancashire 2nd XI and England age-group sides, before studying at Millfield School in Somerset and then at UWIC in Cardiff.

He subsequently joined the Welsh county’s staff, and in 2009 Chris took 2/33 in the Dragons’ victory against his native Lancashire in their National League contest at the SWALEC Stadium. In 2011 he claimed a career-best 4/47 in the LV=County Championship match against Surrey at The Kia Oval, but  Chris did not appear in any County Championship or List A matches in 2012, and he was released at the end of the season.
