Charles Trubshaw played for Llanelli CC, as well as for Carmarthenshire between 1909 and 1919. In 1912 he also appeared alongside his brother Ralph, for the Gentlemen of Glamorgan against the Players at Neath on 5 and 6 September. He made 13 in his only innings, besides claiming a trio of wickets in the Players’ second innings as the contest at The Gnoll ended in a draw.

He was the son of Ernest Trubshaw, the Managing Director of the Western Tinplate Works in Llanelli and a decent enough cricketer to play with distinction for Cardiganshire and Llanelli CC in the 1860s and 1870s. Like his brother, Charles attended Uppingham School and Clare College, Cambridge before training to be a barrister.

In all, he appeared in six Minor County Championship matches for Carmarthenshire but he played little cricket after being called to the Bar, and moving to live with his wife Phyllis in Cornwall. The pair had got married in London during June 1924.

Charles also served as a Captain in the Royal Welch Fusiliers during the Great War. His nephew was Brian Trubshaw, the chief test pilot of Concorde, who had been in the XI at Winchester College and had played for the RAF in 1946.
