Cameron Herring kept wicket for Glamorgan in their List A friendly against Pakistan A at Spytty Park in Newport during 2016 at a time when the youngster was on a summer contract with the Welsh county.

He had previously played for welsh age-group teams, as well as the Glamorgan Academy, but with Mark Wallace and Chris Cooke cementing 1st XI spots, he opted to join Gloucestershire for 2013 and acted as Gareth Roderick’s understudy. He duly made his first-class debut against Essex in April 2013, besides scoring a century for Gloucestershire against Cardiff MCCU the following year.

However, Cameron only made a handful of appearances for Gloucestershire, largely when Roderick was injured and he was released by the West Country side at the end of the 2015 season. He subsequently spent a summer with Glamorgan before studying at Cardiff Met University and playing for the Cardiff MCCU team between 2016 and 2018.
