Brian Davis

Brian Davis, a petroleum technologist, played for Glamorgan during mid-July 1938 in their two-day friendly against Sir Julian Cahn’s XI at his private ground in West Bridgford, Nottingham.

Born and raised in Sussex, Brian had been in the Lancing XI in 1926 before moving to the Home Counties and playing Minor County cricket for Buckinghamshire as well as Berkshire.

He was subsequently promoted to a post in South Wales and after some decent performances in club cricket, Brian appeared for Glamorgan’s Club and Ground side, as well as in their 1st XI friendly against Cahn’s XI. In later life, he changed his surname to Stevens-Davis.
