Left-arm swing bowler Alex Jones spent four years on Glamorgan’s staff during which time he was largely regarded as a one-day specialist, playing in 24 white-ball contest and just three red-ball matches.

Some probing performances with the ball for Cowbridge CC saw Alex first play for the Glamorgan Colts during 2005, and he further honed his skills from 2008 in the Wales Minor Counties team. Alex duly made his 1st XI debut against Somerset in the Clydesdale Bank40 match at Taunton in 2010 and the following year, Alex was a regular member of the Welsh county’s team in the T20 competition and delivered some useful spells opening the attack in the all-action competition.

However, a series of injuries blighted his subsequent progress and Alex was released from the county’s staff at the end of the 2013 season.
