Thomas Butler

Born in Gloucester, Thomas Butler was a highly effective bowler for Glamorganshire between 1870 and 1872. The coppersmith also had a decent record with Cardiff CC and made his debut at county level on May 20 and 21 against the West Gloucestershire club at Bristol. He scored 13 and 0 but claimed seven wickets in the contest, followed by four more in the return match at the Arms Park in Cardiff on 30 June and 1 July, besides scoring 13 and 19.

Thomas also claimed six wickets in the away match in 1871 against Herefordshire, in addition to a thirteen-wicket wicket match haul in the game against Radnorshire at Llandrindod Wells in 1872. This proved to be his final appearance for Glamorganshire. Thomas also appeared for the Players of South Wales between 1868 and 1870.
