Ryan Hadley, a right-arm medium-fast bowler from New South Wales, joined Glamorgan in March 2026. Initially, his contract was for just the opening block of County Championship matches, but after success with the ball – and bizarrely also with the bat – it was extended to cover other four-day games later in the summer.

The former Under19 international with Australia subsequently made his first-class debut for New South Wales in 2022/23, in addition to playing from 2025/26 for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash.

The 27 year-old also played for Australia A in 2025/26 in addition to being in the squad for the Australian Prime Minister’s XI against the England Lions.

Ryan has experience of cricket in the UK having played in 2022 for Balbriggan CC who won the Leinster Cricket Union title.

In May 2026 Ryan played a remarkable innings as night-watcher which helped Glamorgan to secure a dramatic two-wicket victory. He had played the role before in Shield cricket in Australia and in his previous Glamorgan innings he had yet to be dismissed. Despite a career-best score of 15, Ryan played the match-winning innings as he survived the closing overs on day three before before still being in the middle shortly after tea on the following day, as he struck the winning runs after sharing what proved to be a century stand with Dickson, with the on-driven four also seeing him complete a maiden first-class fifty from 231 runs which had blunted the Somerset attack.
