Albert Goodwin played once for Glamorganshire – against Monmouthshire at Usk on 23 and 24 July 1869. He batted at number eleven and made 0 and 2* in what proved to be his only appearance at county level.

He was the son of John Goodwin who was well-known publican in the town. At the age of 32, Albert entered Jesus College to read Theology and subsequently served as curate in Merthyr Tydfil and his home town of Abergavenny as well as Box near Chippenham.
